THE HOUSING CRISIS: Utopian Solutions against the Gig Economy & Co.

THE HOUSING CRISIS: Utopian Solutions against the Gig Economy & Co.
After years and years of crossing that bridge, it is just an expensive way to get to San Francisco City. It stilll has the vaporwave/lofi hiphiop anime girl "vibes". Not my picture, as usual.

THIRD DAY OF 2023:

2 PER CENT = 2%, (around 20,000 "we the people" people) are UNHOUSED in the San Francisco City County.

This is not, I repeat, it is not, a Bay Area phenomenon. It is a WIDESPREAD ALL OVER THE 42 STATES I VISITED IN 2019 STATE OF THINGS in the richest nation-state in the known universe.

Back in my old times as a Peripherical Citizen (relative to the Core Powers of the World), this was called: EXTREME POVERTY.

Class is determined by many factors, including, for example, the brand of your car or if you EVEN have a car. Teslas abound in the Bay Area. So do the "CREEPY HOUSELESS" who is anyone who had:

  1. Any misfortune befallen into them

No second point. That's it. You are one paycheck/misfortune to become a sadistic statistic f0r someone else. The source? You see it everyday.

It's been raining and that's good for the state but also horrible for anyone who is trying to "navigate" their way through housing. The "Navigaton Centers", and euphemism for Refugee Shelters, are not the type of place anyone will navigate this storm into their American Dream house with the family and the dog and the picket fence. It is a cut-throat thing still, despite of all the WEALTH ACCUMULATED BY FEW WHO HAS MADE A FUCKING BUBBLE OUT OF EVERYONE'S RENT. If you move, good luck finding a better place. In the bay area, unless you have fortune on your side, everything is going to get worse for all of us.

So,

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION TO so called HOMELESSNESS:

Housing First.

Period.

.

People will be people anywhere you put them, but as long as they are sheltered and able to PURSUIT HAPPINESS, as some dudes said that we were supposed to do, then things will somehow, even if your neighbor is WEIRD (hai there, I am the edgiest kid in UC Berkeley), they will begin to recover from:

THE TRAUMA OF BEING "HOMELESS" AND INVISIBLE.

I am now calling for action:

I know this call we be unheard, I know that no one in their right mind (specially me) would do such an action but, the solution to the HOUSELESSNESS is using:

OFFICE SPACE THAT WAS LEFT UNUSED DURING THE PANDEMIC AND SHOULD BE DONATED TO THE CITY BY THE FUCKING INTERNET-OVERLORDS.

I must not be the first one, but here it goes, full left-wing extreme measures for extreme times:

I, EdgeMudted, call for the peaceful occupation (or squatting and then reforming) of all of the FINANCIAL DISTRICT OF SAN FRANCISCO AND THE REST OF THE BAY AREA.

I feel like Lenin must have felt. And I hate so called "communism" as much as I hate so called "western imperialism" (or Capitalism or the System or Empire, it depends on who you are reading). I have biographical reasons to be suspicious of the MARKET and be in favor of Direct Democracy.

I heard some other billionaire came to town a few weeks ago. His last name is Musk.

I tell you, fellow citizen, with papers or not, fellow worker, even fellow tech-worker: TAKE OVER THE BUILDING.

This could go wrong in so many ways that I can't describe but:

TWITTER HAS GONE WRONG IN SOME MANY WAYS THAT WE CAN DESCRIBE IN DETAIL FROM BEFORE THE TAKE OVER OF SOME OTHER GURU BILLIONAIRE.

And if you go to the Financial District in San Francisco, or Oakland or anywhere in the Bay Area, you will find the same: KIDS THINKING THEY DESERVE THEIR SHITTY JOBS and HOUSELESS PEOPLE who know better.

Here's some statistical data:

LESS THAT 1% of the population according to any sensible psychiatric paper in any given moment has a disease that will impair their ability to acquire or rent a place to live in during the fucking CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS OF 2023.

That means that 50% of the UNHOUSED (stop using homeless, The People's Park was home to MANY until the UC BERKELEY REGENTS DECIDED THEY WERE NOT WORTH THE GROUND THEY WERE LIVING IN, and Berkeley Citizens had no say in their ballots) has been, completely, displaced.

The last time I checked the statistics was in 2015 and I was working for the Street Sheet, a fun name for a serious business: extreme poverty in an extremely wealthy county/city/place in the world. Back then, less than 10 years ago, only 1% of the population of San Francisco was Homeless. Around 10,000 human beings right next to fucking Mozilla.

CONSIDER: you are about to be evicted. You messed up. You didn't pay the rent. Your landlord used predatory tactics. Your human rights are worthless to anyone. You also have a baby and a partner and a dog. You have three days, no family except the friends you know somewhere around and a fucking electric car.

This has been the reality of at the very least 10,000 individuals in San Francisco, the RICHEST CITY ON THE UNIVERSE.

Meanwhile:

Those huge skyscrapers? They are empty. And full of toilets. Even showers. Back in the pre-pandemic world, they even had chefs inside. Now, there is no one.

FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS AGAINST THE TECHNOCRACY:

OCCUPY SAN FRANCISCO'S FINANCIAL DISTRICT.

Harm nobody (seriously), but don't let the fucking city to eat you alive. Many of you were here before, way before, any of these techs came in. Fucking TAKE OVER MOZILLA, my favorite brand in San Francisco.

OR MAKE THEM PAY IN KIND WITH TAXING. We, the people, know that why the rent is so fucking high, and it's not the view.

Sincerely yours, and always sending a message of PEACE over ANY VIOLENT MEANS TO TAKE OVER:

Vladimir EdgeMuted Lenin.

....

So Yea, that's what I have to say about empty buildings in the Bay Area and the fucking horrible crisis of rent that makes no sense at all. I won't part take in any of these actions because I am not a Lenin type of figure, I am just an incendiary (french for Someone Who Brings Light to Things), trying to ignite metaphorically, even in the tech-worker sector (soon to be replaced by their own creations) some spirit that this San Francisc Bay Area is more than just a bunch of billionaires making decisions. LET THEM PAY FOR THEIR CHOICES.

OCCUPY SAN FRANCISCO FINANCIAL DISTRICT!

Don't fuck with SFPD, though.

Some of them are pretty fine folk, including private security folks. I know it from experience.

OCCUPY EVERY BUILDING IN SAN FRANCISCO, LET'S TAKE BACK WHAT THEY TOOK FROM US AN SHOW THEM THAT WE SET THE EXAMPLE FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

May god help us all (if you believe, which as an agnostic, I can't say that I do).

Happy 2023. This year we can look forward to a lot of apocalypse but also, well, REAL DISRUPTIVE CHANGE.

PS: I am not a communist, I am not Lenin (he is dead), I survived something called socialism which is not really (I have better socialism anywhere in the United States) and my parents survived Brand Name Fascism (and opposed them to the end of the consequences, not a pretty story). I am just outraged by the inequality that we live in and we just passively accept. FUCK IT FAM, LETS JUST GET INTO THEIR TOWERS AND SQUAT THERE. MAYBE THAT WILL MAKE PEOPLE THINK THAT WE ARE NOT FUCKING.... oof.... you know.

Just remember: Whatever we do here will have a real impact in the entire history of humanity. I am the first to shelter in place and duck and cover and be scared by anything, but I can still write, right?

Thanks for reading, and as usual,

If this line has found you in trouble, may your troubles soon be over.
